Americans with Disabilities Act 20th Anniversary Celebration

DARS

DARS, The Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, administers programs that help Texans with disabilities find jobs through vocational rehabilitation, to ensure that Texans with disabilities live independently in their communities, and assist families in helping their children under age 3 with disabilities and delays in development to reach their full potential.

DARS 20th Anniversary ADA Logo

July 26, 2010 was the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act, (ADA). DARS Celebrated the event state-wide.

Project

Design a logo and set of seven commemorative posters for the DARS celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act to be used for statewide celebrations.

Process

For the logo I incorporated the assigned tagline "Access the Future" with a bold two-color palette suggesting a gateway leading to a path towards a sunrise and a bright future of progress.

The posters were created using the same two colors with striking black and white images to compliment quotes about The Americans with Disabilities Act from the last 20 years.
