Division for Blind Services

The DARS Division for Blind Services (DBS) assists blind or visually impaired individuals and their families. Depending upon their goals and needs, DBS offers services to help regain independence or find a job.

DBS staff work in partnership with Texans who are blind or visually impaired to get high quality jobs, live independently, or help a child receive the training needed to be successful in school and beyond.

Project

Create a Z- Fold Bilingual Program Brochure for The Division for Blind Services. DBS requested that their primary program brochure be completely redesigned and asked that the English and Spanish versions of the publication be merged into one brochure.

Process

The original brochure was an 8.5 x 11 Tri-fold. I suggested to the client that the new brochure be a 9 x 15 Z-Fold to organize the English and Spanish content. Two colors were used with easy to read typography. The main graphics appear on each cover, the front and back both acting as a front cover for the English and Spanish content. 

The opacity of the graphics of the inside panels are intentionally lower to accommodate the brochure text.
